Oaxaca, Mexico is located in one of the poorest and most environmentally degraded regions of the world.  These communities experience Mexico’s lowest levels of income, health and literacy and are highly dependent on agriculture.  Micro-enterprises and other community developments make it possible for families to generate revenues, improving the health and nutrition of the family and at the same time reducing the pressure on the land.  Lalapanzi™ - in partnership with Solana Beach Presbyterian Church, in Solana Beach, CA - participates in a sewing project to help mothers provide for their families.   A group of women have taken a series of classes to sew clothing, blankets, quilts and school uniforms for personal use and for sale.
